We're hiring a Retail Plant and Social Parents as part of the DFC JobStart Scheme. The role is for 25hrs a week and it will be a temporary position for 6 months at our shop at Ards Shopping Centre, Newtownards. (May become a permanent).

This is an exciting opportunity for young people aged 16-24 to learn new horticultural and retail skills that will build their CV, and get experience that can be used in many other roles going forward. Previous retail experience is not essential as we will provide all the necessary support and training for the role. Successful candidates will follow a training program that will increase product knowledge and give an insight into the industry.

About the role…

Our customers are at the heart of what we do at Plantila, so exceptional customer service is our main priority. To play an essential role in delivering this we are looking for Retail Plant and Social Parents to join our team. As a Retail Plant and Social Parent, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service including providing advice and guidance in relation to indoor and outdoor plant care and maintenance, core gardening products, maintaining the plants, processing deliveries, preparing website orders, helping with social media and creating visually attractive plant displays at our shop on a daily basis as per company standards, and any other duties associated with a plant and garden shop role.

• Naturally friendly and approachable person
• Can flourish in a busy, fast-paced environment with high footfall
• Previous retail and plant experience would be an strong advantage
• Already a plant parent with your own collection at home!

• 25hrs per week (Overtime available seasonally)
• Salary - 16-17yrs £6.50ph, 18-20yrs £8.75ph, 21-24yrs £11.65ph.
